Mystery photo


Its just for fun but can anyone identify the bird in the picture? It was taken at Magor Marsh yesterday evening. Shouldn't be too difficult for seasoned birders.

  3. Wrong! Come on this is basic stuff. Don't you know a GCNs are mammals not birds? Try again.

  4. Ok.....must be a smooth newt then - there's no visible crest.

  5. Wrong again--everyone knows that GCNs are insects, albeit primitive ones. In any case, the photo is of a plant--my guess is Water Fern (Azolla). Of course , I could be wrong---maybe it's a mosquito, perhaps the one that gave Cheryl Cole malaria!
